Who’s Eligible?

To receive free energy-efficiency products and services under this program, your household must:

  • Be located in I&M’s service area in Indiana.
  • Live in a single-family or multi-family home.
  • Be under the federal income limits listed here.

How to Apply

  • Check the chart above. Confirm that your household size and income fit the qualifications.
  • Sign up for a free Home Energy Checkup.
  • Get free energy-saving products installed at no charge.

How it Works

  • A trusted I&M certified contractor will do the Home Energy Checkup to see how your home uses energy.
  • You’ll get a report with tips to use less energy, so you can start saving right away.
  • If they can’t finish all the installs in one day, the certified contractor will set up a second visit.

Single-family homes can take one to two hours for the full check. Apartments can take two to four hours.

Get Started

  • Clear away furniture or other items blocking doors or windows.
  • Clear away anything blocking furnace and AC access.
  • Clear away anything blocking registers and cold air returns.
  • Put pets in a crate, carrier or in a closed room.
  • Be sure an adult is home to let the certified contractor inside.
  • Keep kids under 18 busy in another room or outside while the certified contractor is working.
  • An adult must be at home if kids are at home when the certified contract is there.
