Save Energy and Money with IM Home

Heating and cooling your home costs more than 50% of your energy bill—making heating and cooling the largest energy expense in most homes. IM Home makes it easy for busy families to keep their homes comfortable, save energy and help the environment.

If you set your thermostat a little higher during the summer months, you’ll reduce your cooling costs by 3-4% for each degree of adjustment. IM Home can help you save even more with a $25 rebate, plus bill credits.

Reduce Your Energy Bill

IM Home and a smart thermostat can help reduce your energy bills and get bill credits during high-demand periods. Smart thermostats make it easy and convenient to manage your home’s energy use. Adjust your thermostat on the go or simply set an automatic schedule to optimize your energy usage based on your routine.

When summer temperatures climb, demand for energy increases. IM Home is designed to help reduce high energy—or peak—demand. Holding Demand Response (DR) events helps reduce peak demand and control costs for everyone.

I&M holds DR events to manage the energy grid when the demand for energy is the highest. During a DR event, small temperature adjustments will be made but you always have control to adjust the temperature in your home at any time.

Get a $25 Rebate, Plus Bill Credits

You will receive $25 just for enrolling in IM Home, and receive a bill credit of $2.40 per DR event. The DR events happen weekdays between May and September and typically last 2-3 hours. You must participate in at least 50% of the event’s duration to get the credit.

Tip of the Day

TIP #88
Buying New Appliances
Investigate new technology carefully. Some innovations, like convection ovens or argon-filled windows, may save energy and make life more convenient. While others, such as commercial-grade kitchen appliances, might be merely expensive ‘toys’.
