FAQs
- Must be an I&M Indiana residential customer to receive a free kit.
- Kit is limited to one per I&M Indiana account every three years.
- The kit will be shipped to the service address on your I&M account.
Electric water heaters have an electrical supply cord. It looks like a thick extension cord and is generally black or gray and near the top of the water heater.
Gas / Propane water heaters have a vent pipe on top of the water heater. It is usually a 3- or 4-inch PVC pipe that allows the exhaust created by the gas to be vented outside. Gas water heaters also have a ½-inch-thick black gas pipe going into the bottom of the tank.
If you are an I&M Indiana customer and have not received a free kit in the last three years, please allow four weeks for it to arrive. You will receive an email confirmation when your kit ships.
If it has been less than three years since you received a kit, you do not qualify for a free kit at this time. Please note, you may update your Home Energy Profile at any time.
