- You must be an active customer of I&M (an Efficiency United utility.)
- Small appliances qualify only when recycled alongside a full-size refrigerator or freezer, and all appliances must be in working condition.
- You are limited to two large appliances and four small appliances per calendar year.
- Your incentive check is mailed within four weeks of pickup.

If your household meets the income guidelines, your Home Energy Assessment comes with energy-saving upgrades installed at no cost. An expert technician walks through your home, finds where energy is being lost or wasted, and leaves you with a customized report along with the improvements below. The visit and upgrades are free, with no application fee.

- A diagnostic test that pinpoints where air is leaking out of your home
