In 2020, 231 classrooms learned about saving energy. Each of the 6,586 students received an energy-saving kit to take home. Those 5th-grade students and their families helped save over 1.2 million kWh. That’s equal to reducing the emissions from a car driving 2,240,690 miles a year.*

What are the rules / qualifications?
- Must be an I&M residential customer in Michigan.
- Your student must be in grades 3-6.
- Kit is limited to one per I&M account every three years.
- The kit will be mailed to the Michigan mailing address on your I&M account. If you have an out-of-state address (not Michigan), the kit will be shipped to your service address.
How do I order a kit?
Is there a limit on the number of energy-saving kits?
Yes. There is a limit of one energy-saving kit per I&M account every 3 years.
Where will the kit be mailed? Can the kit be mailed to my winter home in Florida?
The kit will be sent to the Michigan mailing address on your I&M account. If you have an out-of-state address (not Michigan), the kit will be sent to your service address. If you have a PO Box or forwarding request at USPS, you may be charged USPS forwarding fees.
